“Joe Jensen from Confluence Construction did an excellent job building our structurally insulated panel home. Since the house site was away from Missoula, he pretty much camped out at the site during the build. Because of this and his great insite, he was able to make suggestions during construction that made our home even more livable. He was very good about keeping us on budget when sending us out to select building materials. All I had to do was ask what the budget was and then only asked to see materials within that price range. We consider him to be more than our builder, he is now our friend, too.”

I've worked with Confluence Construction on a few remodel projects, including a complete renovation of a condominium in the historic Wilma building. Despite the inherent quirks of an old building (e.g. walls not square to one another, mysterious pipes leading to nowhere), Joe and his crew did a fantastic job transforming the space. Additionally, Joe's sense of humor and easy-going demeanor made working together a pleasure. Bonus points for being kind to my dog!

We hired Confluence Construction for a significant remodeling project, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. In a town full of capable contractors, what stands out is Joe's exemplary communication style and his ability to attract good subs. The bottom line is that people--from homeowners to carpenters to plumbers--like working with Joe. We came into our remodel a bit gun-shy because of previous strife with another contractor. Invariably, problems do crop up in a remodeling job, and the key is how a contractor handles those problems. Joe proved to be attentive and engaged in resolving the issues that arose with our project. He was always honest (and refreshingly, never patronizing). Joe brings great energy, ideas, people and resources to the table. We highly recommend him and will most certainly involve him in early stages of any future projects we do.

Joe worked with us to fully renovate a condo in the historic Babs building on the Hip Strip in Missoula. We live in Washington so we worked closely by phone, text and email to stay in touch. The entire process was enjoyable in no small part due to Joe being an excellent communicator. He always replied to our messages quickly and was very patient with me when I would revisit decisions. We are very pleased with the craftsmanship throughout the condo. Joe was instrumental in providing us terrific referrals to local business resources as we worked though the list of things a homeowner needs to make decision on such as fixtures, lighting etc. We truly could not have had a more positive experience with a contractor. We may purchase a larger home in Missoula in the text two years and Joe will be the first person we call when we decide to build or renovate.

The last several years I have heard of many unforeseen circumstances that caused delays or challenges with new construction and remodels all over Missoula. The guys at Confluence Construction did a great job of pivoting when necessary on my new construction project and helping me to have realistic expectations. Joe is steady and unflappable and having a calm problem solver at the helm gave me great peace of mind.

We recently completed a major renovation of a house in the U district in Missoula. We picked Confluence Construction because they gave us a solid quote and seemed honest and trustworthy. We are exceptionally pleased with the end result. Joe Jensen and Mickey Niland were both terrific. They were very responsive and easy to work with and they had very good suggestions for improving the project. They stayed within the overall budget and provided a very useful tracking sheet to help us determine how much more we owed and what we could afford for "add-ons". The project ran over the original timeline by a few months, but that was expected given all of the supply chain impacts from COVID and labor shortages in Missoula. Also, we added more scope to the project which caused some delays in completion. The quality of the work was excellent and when we wanted something changed they were very flexible and got right on it. We would not hesitate to hire them again!

My wife and I can't say enough good things about our experience with Joe Jensen from Confluence Construction. He worked diligently to come in on budget, on time, and was a really intelligent (smart and curious) and very laid-back person to interact with (very therapeutic helping us through the stress of building a home). A person like that seems to attract good subs, which is where the rubber meets the road. Everyone I spoke with had good things to say about their interactions with him, from suppliers to installers. On the other hand, he wasn't soft. He didn't settle for bad work from his subs, and appropriately took the flack from an inappropriate stucco guy, and proactively reached out to neighbors on another occasion when there was a question about landscaping disruption. He has since also worked on another neighbor's house, and was invited back for a much larger followup renovation. I won't hesitate to use him again on our next project. (He has since helped us out with consultative information on smaller projects without charge). All-around outstanding contractor and solid citizen. Summary: Highest recommendation without hesitation:

I've heard so many nightmare stories about contractors. We went with Joe because we knew people who had worked with him and had him come under-budget and under-time (pretty much unheard of.) Our experience in a VERY SIGNIFICANT home remodel was that Joe came through and knew exactly what he was doing. Not only did he tell us from the very beginning exactly what we were getting into so there were no huge unpleasant surprises, he was a steady and helpful and calming influence during what can be a very stressful time.

Confluence Construction was phenomenal to work with on our house renovation project. The craftsmanship was exemplary, the crew was friendly and helpful, and there were no surprises with any costs -- even when some small problems popped up. We loved working with Confluence. They felt like partners on a project that we get to enjoy everyday. I can't recommend them enough!
